Mondays are for steak

Mondays are for steak. But of course, so are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and any day ending in yes, I mean, Y.

Steak is a celebration, and it’s good to celebrate every day. As cliché as it gets because as true as it is, every day is a gift. It’s in the present, right in front of you, and it beholds the unknown. A gift – the possibility for something great.

At the start of every day is the possibility for something great. Whether it’s your morning meditation and cup of coffee or your afternoon walk and steak dinner, gratefulness is underrated.

It’s so easy for us to get bogged down in the day-to-day or quickly become swamped with the burden of responsibilities – it’s easy to overlook, and sometimes downright forget, that there is wonder and beauty all around us, often in the little things. Like hidden Easter eggs.

Actively pursuing something you truly want to do takes all the usual – time, patience, money, endurance, more time, more energy, more money, and where did my patience go because why is everything moving so slow?

It takes time to build. Whether it’s your home, health, or business, it takes time to build something with oomph. Which means you need oomph.

Where do you get oomph?

Oomph for me comes in the form of a steak.

Argue and debate about the best way to live, the right way to eat, or the million-mile-long list of dos-and-don’ts that exist in the world of nutrition and health.

Health for me came riding in wearing a red cape, packing protein and fat, wrongly labeled as the bad guy.

Beef.

It really is what’s for dinner.

And though I reach for simplicity these days, I do enjoy a good recipe or flavor combination. I may start whipping up recipes again – simple meat-based comfort foods perhaps, but meanwhile… The Happy Belly Cafe brings you a collection of good reads, drool-worthy food photography, culinary designs, and a spattering of what others in the food world have discovered.

Join us on X – it gets interesting over there.
